SEMIYA UPMA

LEMON SEMIYA

INGREDIENTS

1 VERMICELLI -1 CUP (EITHER DRY ROAST IN MICROWAVE FOR 1MIN OR ROAST IT IN A PAN WITH LITTLE OIL OR GHEE)
2 THINLY SLICED ONION-HALF ONION
3 DRY RED CHILLY-2
4 SALT
5 ASAFOETIDA -LESS THAN 1/4TH OF A TSP
6 LEMON JUICE-1 TSP
7 TURMERIC POWDER-1/4 TSP
8  MUSTARD SEEDS-1/2 TSP
9 CASHEWNUTS-A FIST
10 CURRY LEAVES -A FEW
11 CHANNA DAAL-1/2TSP
12 URAD  DAAL-1/2 TSP
13 WATER-2CUPS

METHOD

.HEAT SOME OIL ,ADD CHANNADAAL
.WHEN IT TURNS BROWN ADD MUSTARD SEEDS , URAD DAAL,RED CHILLY,CURRY LEAVES,CASHEWS
.ADD THE LEMON JUICE,TURMERIC POWDER,ASAFOETIDA,SALT AND FINALLY WATER
. ONCE THE WATER STARTS BOILING,ADD THE ROASTED VERMICELLI
